Mental Health Networking Groups

Sustain is the aim for Mental Health Networking Groups

Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN) is continuing to make inroads towards building multi disciplinary mental health networks across Australia.
Initial workshops involving an informal networking opportunity followed by a case study discussion and a directed conversation around meeting again as an ongoing network are occurring in all inner and outer metropolitan and rural / remote areas of Australia.  Workshops have recorded good representation from Occupational Therapists in the local primary mental health sector, who can claim up to 2 CPD points in Category 5 for attending.
Occupational Therapy Australia, one of the principal partner organizations, is working in conjunction with MHPN to ensure Occupational Therapists receive ongoing information on these workshops and networking opportunities.  To receive this information simply forward your email and contact details to j.pinnuck@mhpn.org.au.
Further support is now being offered by MHPN for workshops to meet again and form ongoing mental health networks.  MHPN Chairman, Mr. John McGrath AM, recently announced the availability of $500 funding for all networks continuing to meet following their initial workshop.
The funding assistance is being directed to sustain networks by assisting with such costs as venue hire fees, modest catering expenses, and guest speakers.  MHPN are also offering additional administrative support to networks including advice and resources to assist in sustaining their success with future meetings.
Further information regarding MHPN workshops can be found by visiting the MHPN website at www.mhpn.org.au.
