The Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN) is continuing to roll out workshops until the end of June 2010 and inviting Occupational Therapists (OT) to attend initial workshops and become involved in ongoing interdisciplinary networks nationally. Occupational Therapists who attend the Mental Health Professional Network (MHPN) workshops will soon be rewarded with access to an innovative online professional network. MHPN Online, a professional networking application being developed by MHPN to support ongoing networking and collaboration between clinicians, will be launched in the coming months.
The site will be offered exclusively to participants of MHPN workshops and provide them with an opportunity to maintain and strengthen their networks by communicating online with members of their newly established MHPN network. Users can also participate in discussion forums on relevant topics related to mental health and collaborative care in a multidisciplinary team, link in with existing colleagues and seek out other local or special interest networks to join.
The online network forums also give a voice to Occupational Therapists and other clinicians to discuss what is important and relevant to their work and to share their expertise on clinical topics. This is a unique environment where GPs, psychiatrists, paediatricians, nurses and allied health professionals can come together to share, learn and build relationships with the ultimate objective to improve patient outcomes.
